I’ve mentioned how much I hate grocery shopping before, no?
Don’t get me wrong I LOOOOOVE shopping at specialty stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and gourmet food shops with fun products. I HATE the weekly shopping trips to stock up on essentials and inevitably wait in tedious lines at the meat counter.
But this past weekend, I saw the light.
Right after dodging the deli line, I made my way to the organic/natural section of the store to pick up some eggs. It was then that I spotted the all-to-familiar green logo – my friends, forever on a mission – KASHI!!! I may or may not have started dancing in the aisle.
A few months back, I blogged about my waffle depression.
Kashi is back at it, folks! Sure it isn’t my beloved GoLean or Heart to Heart varieties, but in fact, it’s better.
These 7-grain babies are jam-packed with fiber (7 grams!) and also contain a decent amount of protein. They are hands down, the best frozen waffles I’ve ever eaten. And I swear I could taste cinnamon! Beyond delish.
We’ve been having some really good times, Mr. Kashi and I. Over the weekend, we celebrated our appreciation for all things strawberries and cream.
And this morning, we let our good friend Naturally More join in on the fun and we all went bananas
Dare I say that I’m actually looking forward to this week’s grocery trip? Why? Well, cuz’ I’m already out of waffles.
Good morning, friends!
First of all, I just wanted to quickly remind everyone that voting starts this morning for ROUND TWO of Project Food Blog. If you enjoyed my post on sexy Brazilian Cuisine, I urge you to support me in your voting! Click here and vote for me!
This morning I was feeling extra pumpkified and I knew I needed to take advantage of the LIBBY’S I had sitting in my cabinet (I stocked up last week!)
I threw together a fantastic pumpkin smoothie that you all need to make for yourselves STAT. In addition to being completely delicious, this smoothie is incredibly nutritious!
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt (I used Stonyfield!)
- 1/2 cup skim or soy milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup ice
Throw it all in the blender and mix it up!
The fun placemat is optional, although highly recommended
I think breakfast might be my favorite meal of the day.
And it’s definitely one of my favorite meals to eat OUT. Especially when a city (like Chicago!) is sprinkled with heavenly spots like JAM.
My super cool aunt was kind enough to take me to the hot new spot before driving me to the airport.
Upon sitting down, we were presented with these little gobs of goodness.
Mini marmalade muffins with orange cream.
Adorable! Too adorable to eat? NEVER!
The homemade granola and greek yogurt immediately caught my eye.
See the raspberry preserves in the middle?
If there’s a hell, it’s a room of people being forced to watch others eat raspberry preserves and not getting to try any themselves.
What’s your favorite flavor of JAM?
