Fashion Friday

Happy Friday! Any big plans this weekend?

I have a pretty busy one over here! Tonight I’ll be hanging out with my parents while the Mister watches the NFL draft. Who knew that picking a team could be so DRAMATIC? It brings me back to 6th grade gym class, though – almost makes me feel back for the guy who gets picked last. Then I learn how much he’s getting paid and feel bad for myself instead.

Tomorrow I’m singing at a wedding, going to the park with VeggieGirl and then hopefully doing something fun with my Mister. Sunday we have a fun date planned. We’re going to a nice dinner and then to see RIVERDANCE! Should be interesting. Perhaps we’ll learn a thing or two!

For those of you who are interested, I’ll be posting my first week re-cap of P90X tomorrow – so be sure to check back! Based on the feedback I received from you guys, I’ll make one post a week. For those of you who want more detailed info, feel free to email me ;)

Let’s get onto this week’s outfits! On behalf of the Mister, I apologize for these sub-par photos ;) He promises next week will be better.

In the mix:

  • Dress: Kohls
  • Scarf: NORDSTROM
  • Shoes (even those you can’t see them- BAD MISTER!): Gucci Ballet flats

I love this outfit because it’s simple, comfortable and still stylish. And I dig the contrast between the mustardy yellow and the black and white.

Hello, sunshine!

Talk about shadows!

In the mix:

  • Dress:  Talbots (borrowed from my mom)
  • Scarf: Ed Hardy
  • Purse: Betsey Johnson
  • Shoes: Gucci
  • Silver cuff: Tiffany

This is a great example of how a fun, whimsical scarf can add personality to an otherwise boring outfit.

Note — I apologize for my lack of commenting/participation on many of your blogs. I’m INSANELY busy right now, but I assure you I’m reading ;)

What are you up to this weekend? Any fun plans? I might end up seeing a movie tonight — any recommendations?

Fashion Friday – Bunnies and Birthday cake

HAPPY FRIDAY! Busy, busy day today! The Mister is gone AGAIN! He’s actually shooting a commercial in Pittsburgh this morning (Pittsburgh readers — let me know if you want me to tell you who the commercial is for, then you can look out for him!) Some of you may remember that the Mister and I are both professional models and actors. I wrote about it in a post awhile back (#4), if you are interested.

Anyway, tonight we are meeting up with my family for a mini birthday celebration – HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT JENNY! Then tomorrow the Mister and I are headed to Detroit for a 30-seconds to Mars concert (Jared Leto’s band). Who knows what Sunday will bring — I’m hoping for a bike ride ;)

This week’s outfits were fun, comfortable AND stylish.

You can’t see it (due to my horrid photos), but there are sketches of bunny rabbits on my sweater — makes me feel all warm inside just looking at them.

  • Sweater – Anthropologie
  • Green Tank – C&C California
  • Brown skirt – Max studio
  • Brown shoes – Calvin Klein

I love this outfit because it comfortable, classy and SO simple. Also goes to show you how a simple pop of color can transform an outfit from dull and drab to BRIGHT and cheerful!

  • Dress - Anthropologie
  • Black shirt – GAP
  • Tights – The Limited
  • Belt – Betsey Johnson
  • Necklace – Marc Jacobs

What was your favorite thing you wore this week?

Clean freak or stinkball?

Happy Fashion Friday! The Mister and I have a BIG weekend planned! We’re headed to Columbus to visit two of our best friends and their adorable girls and also attend a COUPLES Bridal Shower (yes, you read that right). The Mister isn’t exactly the happiest camper at the moment, but I’ve lured him to comply by packing the car with yummy treats and promising he can listen to “his music.” Why, at times, do I feel that I’m already ready for motherhood? ;)

Anyway, I’ll be sure to re-cap the weekend activities, as I know we’ll get into lots of fun (while the Mister isn’t oooo-ing and ahhh-ing over table settings, of course!)

Last night’s blogger dinner was a blast and I had such a great time chatting with the ladies behind the blogs I love. I’ll post more about my meal and experience later today, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, enjoy the following VERY professional photos ;)

How awesome are those tights? Isn’t it incredible how mush interest they add to an otherwise boring outfit? And I love that they still remain classy and under-stated since the main color in them is black. They pique interest without overpowering — I received many compliments on these tights! And for those of you who need help in the tights department, read my post on How to Wear Tights (it’s enlightening, I tell you!)

In the mix:

  • Dress – Max Studio
  • Tights – NORDSTROM
  • Shoes – BCBG

Up next is a dress my mom bought me this past week. Now, before you all start calling me spoiled (which admittedly, I am), Mama got this dress for $7.

I love this dress. What I don’t love is that it’s dry clean only. Let me give you all a tip — unless your garment has a stain or smells like B.O., don’t waste your money on dry-cleaning. Better yet, don’t waste your time WASHING it. Now before you all make a mental note to stay at least two feet away next time you see me, hear me out. The less you wash and dry your clothes, the longer they last, and the better they will look and feel. Don’t believe me? Well, I have back up. (NOTE: this DOES NOT apply to work-out clothes)

In the mix:

  • Dress: NORDSTROM Rack
  • Shoes: Calvin Klein

What type of launderer are you? Do you wash things after every use or are you a stinkball like me?

Fashion Friday – getting rid of the winter blues!

Goodbye, Winter! HELLO Spring/Summer! The weather is beautiful over here – so much so that the Mister and I have a BIKE DATE  at the Metroparks this afternoon! (don’t worry, I WILL NOT be bringing my camera ;)

This week I brought in the warmer weather by phasing out of my warmer, wintery pieces – it just so happens they were both blueish, i.e. winter blues – so clever, aren’t I? ;)

This first outfit was actually an example of one of my spring/summer dresses winterized. See how I added a scarf and distressed boots? To make this more summery I’d add a cute pair of sandals and call it a day!

In the mix:

  • Dress – Anthropologie
  • Turtleneck – The Limited
  • Boots – Cleveland Boutique – Knuth

This next outfit incorporates one of my FAVORITE jackets that I picked up on one of my Chicago trips. In order to make it more spring-like, I paired it with a bright skirt.

In the mix:

Jacket – Calypso

Skirt – J.Crew

Tights/leggings – HUE

Boots – Calvin Klein

Turtleneck – Banana Republic

Well kiddos, I’m off to STUDY before the Mister can join me for an afternoon of fun!

What are all of you up to today? How many have/took the day off?

Fashion Friday – Is it a shirt? a dress? Who cares, it’s cute ;)

Happy Friday!

Another busy Friday, so let’s get right to it! This week’s theme? SHIRTDRESSES! Versatile, stylish AND comfortable, you cannot go wrong with a shirtdress. Just make sure to watch the fit! If it’s a boxy or larger shirt, pair it with a belt so you don’t loose your waist!

GAH! That lighting is horrid - I look deathly!

In the mix:

Jacket and shirtdress: Boutique in Chagrin Falls – my amazing mama bought this outfit for me last weekend – she knows me too well!

Boots: Calvin Klein

Another shirtdress!

In the mix:

Pink shirtdress: Allen B

Striped tank: Michael Stars

Jeans: Elie Tahari

Ankle boots: Jeffrey Campbell

What is everyone up to tonight? Any fun plans?
