Good morning!
Sorry I was MIA yesterday. The Mister and I had a BIG adventure on Tuesday and it took me awhile to recover and get the household back in order.
HA – the word “household” always makes me feel so adult.
OK – focusing… You probably are all curious to our adventure, no?
After work on Tuesday, we loaded up the car with snacks and Jimmy Johns and headed up to Ann Arbor to catch The Boxer Rebellion at The Blind Pig.
Incredible.
The Blind Pig is a pretty small venue — we were about 20 feet from the band!

The Boxer Rebellion was one of my favorites before the concert and after seeing them live, they easily make my top 5. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. And another extra treat was that we got to see We Are Augustines open for them (one of my favorite things about going to concerts is seeing new bands – it’s how the Mister and I first fell in love with Neon Trees and Paper Tongues!) Check out my post when I first saw Neon Trees (Note that this was BEFORE they got super famous — the Mister and I have an eye for talent, obvi
)
Anyway, We Are Augustines was really amazing live – very talented group of musicians – and I can see them becoming a new favorite – be sure to check them out!

The concert sadly ended at 11:30 and it was then time to face our two and a half hour drive back the the CLE.
Of course that’s when a major storm decided to come rolling through. Poor Mister, who had to drive home and pay complete attention to the road while I dozed in and out of sleep (I tried SO HARD to stay awake!) We finally got home to Bean and grandma around 3 am. Naturally, Bean came a callin’ for milk around 6 am, so I only got 3 hours of sleep. It’s OK, though – it was totally worth it.
Anyway, enough about my incredible taste in music — let’s get to this week’s moments of gratitude.
This week, I’m thankful for –
Jesus — with all the fun Easter activities and yummy food, let’s not forget what this day is really about, people. So, so incredibly thankful for Jesus — today, and always
The Boxer Rebellion — if you don’t have their album, listen to it on their website, you mind will be blown, I promise
Coffee
Breast pump technology — can’t say our adventure on Tuesday would have been as comfortable without it!
Rice Krispies – you’ll find out why soon enough
Sunshine
The upcoming weekend
What are you thankful for this week? And what bands have you discovered by going to other concerts?!
The Mister and I had a great time at the Anberlin concert! And I was so happy to have him home!

The concert was held in a really interesting venue, Mr. Smalls. Mr. Smalls is a renovated 18th century church that’s been remodeled for concerts, also containing recording studios. While it was really cool, it STUNK! This may be because they thought it was a good idea to cram 1,000 people into an old building and turn OFF the air conditioning.
Anyway, we had a great time singing and dancing to our favorites but we weren’t happy to get back on the road to Cleveland afterwards – we didn’t get home until almost 2 a.m!
Saturday afternoon we both took it easy and did our own thang. I had a fashion show and then I walked and lunched with my Mama. But by the time I met up with the Mister again, I was ready for some excitement! We met two of our good friends, Sean and Matty for dinner before heading over to a friend’s party.
Sean and Matty recommended Light Bistro and after scanning the menu, I knew they made a brilliant choice!
My thoughts were confirmed as soon as the bread was placed in front of me.

The bread was served in a brown bag – so lovely!

I took advantage of the seasonal menu and ordered the gazpacho soup and strawberry fields salad. The gazpacho soup didn’t seem to make it on my camera (it was so tasty, I just gobbled it right up!), but the strawberry salad speaks for itself.

Salad contained: local strawberries, cheese from local creamery, butter lettuce, and walnuts. Dressed in a homemade vinaigrette.
Can’t beat fresh, local ingredients!
Clevelanders: if you are looking for great ambiance, reasonable prices and delicious selections, please check out Light Bistro.
Overall it was a lovely weekend filled with delicious food, good conversation and LOTS of laughter – my favorite ingredient for a good night! (cheesy, but so true!)
HAPPY FRIDAY! Aren’t short weeks just simply fabulous?! I concur.
I only have one outfit to share this week because I’m lazy my camera was dead 4/5 days.

I’m mildly obsessed with this dress – it is so lightweight and comfy! But still quite structured and chic – don’t you agree?

In the mix:
Cardigan (one of my favorites!) – LOVE that this cardigan gives a pop of color, but is still incredibly neutral – I can wear it with anything!: SAKS
Dress: Kohls!
Belt: Anthopologie
What is everyone up to this weekend? The Mister and I are busy bees! Headed to Pittsburgh for an Anberlin concert tonight (and I’m thinking Jimmy Johns might be involved), I have a fashion show and then dinner/party with friends tomorrow and Sunday will be spent hanging out with our friend Allen, who is in town from LA. I’ll be sure to capture all the fun
See ya’ll later for the Daily Delish!
