Dear Stone Oven,
You have met your match.
Meet my new go-to, the lovely and tantalizing Casa Dolce. Yea, it’s true Casa Dolce has a wide offering of fresh prepared foods and amazing looking pastry (I’ve got to get back there for a cupcake!), but I’ve now had multiple run-ins with one of the salad specials.
Dear Casa Dolce,
If you want to make me reeeeeeallly really happy, please permanently add the Chicken Nicoise salad to your menu. Sure, I can do without the olives and egg, but those are just details — simple substitutions, really. And even though you mistakenly left a globe of death (olive) on my plate last time, all was quickly forgiven. Because when the whole fresh concoction is drizzled with your homemade lemon vinaigrette, suddenly all is right in the world.

p.s. it’s also really great that you let me pick a different vegetable when you were out of green beans. Your sweet potatoes are really out of this world — but that’s another letter.
For now, I’d like it to be noted that upon my death, I’d like to be buried in your candied almond slivers.
That’s all.
Advance thanks for your cooperation.

With fresh cooked potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, almonds, chicken and lemon vinaigrette, this salad is one of the best I’ve had in awhile. What consisted of your most recent salad fave?
Location: Danny Boy’s
Target: Bread sticks

People, I have done it.
I have found the best breadsticks in Cleveland, Ohio. Still not sure if they quite measure up to my beloved Wsterville, Ohio - Pasquales, but I’d be happy to try them a few hundred more times to make sure
The Mister and I decided to try out a new spot with the parentals this weekend: Danny Boys. Now, we had heard major accolades of the place for quite some time now, but with the only location out on the West side, we never managed to make it out there. When I heard a new location was open in Chesterland, I didn’t waste any time.
Displaying awards from City Search, Metromix, WKYC, Cleveland Magazine and more, I knew right away that Danny Boys considers pizza a serious business (as do the Mister and I).
With NY style and Chicago offerings to choose from, (not to mention the delightful sounding flavor combinations and tantalizing Italian pastas and sandwiches) I was overwhelmed. But we then spotted the “Clevelander” and all was right in the world.
Described as “in the middle of NYC and Chicago,” this pizza uses a NYC-style crust and is then prepared Chicago-style with the sauce on top.

Need I continue?
Beyond delicious.
However, being the cheese-lover that I am, I will definitely be ordering the Chicago-style next time I visit my good friend, Danny. Because when it comes to pizza, I follow my frosting philosophy – go big or go home. Lucky for me, Danny boys lets me do both – not only can I go big, but I can take leftovers home for later
I will be visiting Danny’s again SOON – watch out breadsticks, you’re mine.
Where is YOUR favorite pizza from?
Yesterday the Mister and I required a dinner out (at Bar Louie, to be precise). We had both had long days and a nice night out was all we needed to unwind. In no time, I felt the stress ease out of my shoulders and as always, thoroughly enjoyed my Mister’s company. Why can’t I just spend all of my days lazing around eating good food and laughing with my Mister? I’m telling you, it’s the cure to stress.
And well, pretzel sticks and dipping sauce certainly don’t hurt, either.

Dipping sauces: cinnamon butter (amen), honey mustard and queso.
My only complaint? Not enough pretzels.

How do they expect me to enjoy the dipping sauces? By using my finger and licking them clean? No? Bad table manners? Oops.
For dinner, I enjoyed the fresh fruit plate with cottage cheese. It did not disappoint!

It made the perfect summer dinner! Refreshing, light and colorful
How do you unwind after a long, stressful work day?
