Thankful Thursday – Snoogles, Trouble and Squirrel Carcasses

Thankful

Good morning, friends!

I’m in a great mood this morning – mostly because I was thinkin’ up my Thankful Thursday list during my drive into work. This small little act always puts a huge smile on my face and starts my day off on the right foot. I know I say it every week, but seriously consider joining me in the exercise this morning – you’ll be happy you did.

This week, I am thankful for:

My snoogle – best $60 I’ve ever spent. I can finally sleep again and last I heard, sleep was a good thing ;)

Civil Twilight (and Crash Kings, as well as Anberlin) – listen to Trouble, I’m pretty much obsessed

Love Actually, and the fact that I find new things I love about the movie every.single.time. It’s one of the me and the Mister’s favorites and we always watch it to get into the holiday spirit

All the incredible recipes I’m finding from magazines featuring Thanksgiving dishes

That IAN comes to visit this weekend! We have plans to go to MELTthis could get dangerous

My girl date with Jenn and Molly on Saturday

The Mariah Carey new XMAS CD – I cannot WAIT to listen to it!

Bread and butter – ’nuff said

Scented candles – let’s just say the dead squirrel carcass that made it’s way into our outdoor trash can was beginning to make it’s way into my nostrils from the INSIDE of the house, as well. And on that note…

That today is trash pick-up day

YOUR TURN! What are you thankful for today?

Daily Delish – Light Bistro

The Mister and I had a great time at the Anberlin concert! And I was so happy to have him home!

The concert was held in a really interesting venue, Mr. Smalls. Mr. Smalls is a renovated 18th century church that’s been remodeled for concerts, also containing recording studios. While it was really cool, it STUNK! This may be because they thought it was a good idea to cram 1,000 people into an old building and turn OFF the air conditioning.

Anyway, we had a great time singing and dancing to our favorites but we weren’t happy to get back on the road to Cleveland afterwards – we didn’t get home until almost 2 a.m!

Saturday afternoon we both took it easy and did our own thang. I had a fashion show and then I walked and lunched with my Mama. But by the time I met up with the Mister again, I was ready for some excitement! We met two of our good friends, Sean and Matty for dinner before heading over to a friend’s party.

Sean and Matty recommended Light Bistro and after scanning the menu, I knew they made a brilliant choice!

My thoughts were confirmed as soon as the bread was placed in front of me.

The bread was served in a brown bag – so lovely!

I took advantage of the seasonal menu and ordered the gazpacho soup and strawberry fields salad. The gazpacho soup didn’t seem to make it on my camera (it was so tasty, I just gobbled it right up!), but the strawberry salad speaks for itself.

Salad contained: local strawberries, cheese from local creamery, butter lettuce, and walnuts. Dressed in a homemade vinaigrette.

Can’t beat fresh, local ingredients!

Clevelanders: if you are looking for great ambiance, reasonable prices and delicious selections, please check out Light Bistro.

Overall it was a lovely weekend filled with delicious food, good conversation and LOTS of laughter – my favorite ingredient for a good night! (cheesy, but so true!)

Thankful Thursday – Bret Michaels makes me goofy

Hi!

I feel like I have so much to be thankful for this week! So many exciting things happening! It seems as if summer has kick-started multiple celebrations, all of which I’m so thankful to be a part of.

This week, I am thankful for:

New beginnings — and all the weddings the Mister and I will be toasting to this summer ;)

Long weekends

Farmers Markets – I’ve read about many of them in the area, but I have yet to visit one this year — I need to do something about that!

Bret Michaels – (yes, I’m serious) – for creating a DELICIOUS new flavor of Snapple Iced Tea (although I don’t think anything will ever replace my love for peach)

Anberlin - The Mister and I are headed to Pittsburgh to take in a concert tomorrow – I cannot wait, these gyus are incredible LIVE!

The new book I’m reading – It’s such a page-turner and will be keeping me company tonight while the Mister is out of town on business

PB and Banana SHREAM – I’ve made myself multiple bowls to beat the heat!

I’m in a sttttraaaaange mood today – extra goofy!

What are you thankful for this week?
