Thankful Thursday – It’s Wedding Season!

Greetings and Happy Thursday!

Please join me in taking a few moments this morning to recognize all the good in our lives. Despite the hard times, stress, anxiety, etc., there is always something(or a lot!) to be thankful for. What made you smile this week? What are you thankful for this very moment?

I’ll kick it off…

This week I’m thankful for:

Avocados – I have been slathering them on EVERYTHING!

My baby brother and the fact that he’s GRADUATING COLLEGE – I’m so proud of you ;)

My dad, who really deserves a Father’s Day celebration every day of the year. Seriously, my dad rocks. I love you, daddy ;)

That Amber and Jon are getting married and that they are letting me be a part of the festivities! I’m headed to Columbus for the rehearsal tonight and tomorrow is PARTY TIME! I’ll be sure to take lots of pics ;)

For hand sanitizer — seriously, best invention ever.

For Giant Eagle Fuel Perks – I got gas for FREE this week!

For the Mister — for just being him ;)

Since I’m in the wedding mood, I’ll leave you with some wedding flashbacks of the Mister and I – enjoy!

Happy Wedding season!

Thankful Thursday – New Beginnings

Hi friends! HAPPY THURSDAY!

Friday cannot come soon enough — it has definitely been one of those weeks! But I don’t want to bog you down with my complaints~ Instead I have something to celebrate!

My mom finished her last day of school this week. Ever. Yep, she’s entering the lovely years of retirement — oh how I long for those days…

For the past 35 years, my mom has been teaching and this year, she’ll say goodbye to her lesson plans, her familiar hallways and messy classroom. I couldn’t be more proud of her. Trust me when I say that my mom is a phenomenal teacher. From notes from parents (and grandparents!), high praise from other teachers and adoring love from all her students, my mom has touched the lives of so many people over the years.

But with this departure of her current job comes the opportunity for new ventures! It is NEVER too late to reinvent you life, discover new passions and develop interests and hobbies. I am so excited for her.

But she’s not the only one who has the opportunity to try new things! The world is our oyster, people! And this week, I’m thankful for new opportunities. With summer, often comes extra time (must be all that time you used to spend watching TV) and is a great time to develop your inner self. You know, what do you like to do? What have you always wanted to try? A cooking class? Martial arts? Ballroom dancing? Gardening? Where have you always wanted to go? New restaurants? Road trips? Uncovered beaches? What do you want to read? The latest hot novel? A touching memoir? Artsy poetry?

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!

Stop waiting for tomorrow or next year. The moment is now. Forget work, forget obligations (for a moment). Anything can be scaled back to something simple. Want to take a cooking class but don’t have the money or time? Research some recipes and techniques online and take one day a month to make something special for your family. See how easy this is? YOUR TURN!

Again, congratulations to my wonderful mother, who has touched so many with her contagious spirit, passion for learning and zest for life. I know this is only the beginning of her accomplished, gratifying life. And you — what are you waiting for? What new opportunies are you planning for yourself?

Thankful Thursday – Bret Michaels makes me goofy

Hi!

I feel like I have so much to be thankful for this week! So many exciting things happening! It seems as if summer has kick-started multiple celebrations, all of which I’m so thankful to be a part of.

This week, I am thankful for:

New beginnings — and all the weddings the Mister and I will be toasting to this summer ;)

Long weekends

Farmers Markets – I’ve read about many of them in the area, but I have yet to visit one this year — I need to do something about that!

Bret Michaels – (yes, I’m serious) – for creating a DELICIOUS new flavor of Snapple Iced Tea (although I don’t think anything will ever replace my love for peach)

Anberlin - The Mister and I are headed to Pittsburgh to take in a concert tomorrow – I cannot wait, these gyus are incredible LIVE!

The new book I’m reading – It’s such a page-turner and will be keeping me company tonight while the Mister is out of town on business

PB and Banana SHREAM – I’ve made myself multiple bowls to beat the heat!

I’m in a sttttraaaaange mood today – extra goofy!

What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! This week has FLOWN by, hasn’t it?! Not that I’m complaining… ;)

This week I am thankful for…

AIR CONDITIONING – I do not care that it is artificial air. It is cool air that allows me to NOT feel like a sweaty piglet.

Beautiful weather

New outfits (thanks, Mama ;) )

The upcoming LONG weekend

The man who did my pedicure. I have so many callouses that the work I put him through is but a start, but at least people don’t gasp when they see my feet. I have way too many cute, opened toed shoes to have ugly feet!

CHERRIES - I cannot eat enough of them this week! Perfect snack food!

That I no longer feel tethered to my DVR – THANK GOODNESS for season finales! The Mister and I will now be giving up our titles as “biggest couch potatoes ever.” I feel so liberated! (God, I’m pathetic ;) )

What are YOU thankful for this week? Remember! Nothing is too small to recognize! Sometimes it’s the littlest things that change our moods/days around ;)

Thankful Thursday – Bobble Heads – the Cutie and the Dweeb

Good morning!

Happy Thankful Thursday.

I don’t know about you, but this week has been a doozy! With back-to-back meetings most of the day and a few late nights at the office, I feel like I’ve barely had time to breathe. While it could be an easy week to just let this day pass, I think that it actually makes it more important. We need to force ourselves to STOP, breathe and look back on the week.

Please take a few minutes with me and think about what you’re thankful for this week.

I’m thankful for:

Productivity — it’s amazing what you can accomplish when you HAVE TO

Sunshine — it’s beautiful outside today!

My Jack the Pumpkin King Bobble Head — it makes me smile even when I’m stressed

See?! Do we look alike? I’m not sure I’ve mastered the mischievous grin (I look more like a goof!)…

Side note: I cannot BELIEVE I just posted that image of myself to go out over the intertubes.

The upcoming weekend — The Mister and I are going to see GREASE!, and I have a fun date planned with my Mama on Saturday.

That the mister won’t be tempted to kill me my car didn’t dent when I hit a pole in my parking garage

Good books

What are you thankful for this week?

Have you sent in your photos for Fashion Friday?! BIG prizes are at stake!
