Happy Thanksgiving

Categories:

Thankful

The groceries are purchased (Thank God that’s over with). The sweatpants are ready. The house is (in the process of being) cleaned.

Bring on the bird!

But delicious food aside, I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving. No gifts to buy, no money to budget (except for groceries – wowza!). Just family, friends and delicious food. This year, I’m thankful for more than I could even attempt to put into words. I’m thankful for my heart — so full of love and laughter that sometimes I think it might burst. I’m thankful for my family — both biological and dear friends who are my soul sisters. I love you all so very much and I don’t say it enough. I’m thankful for my husband who continues to make me fall in love with him more and more every single day. I am so thankful to be married to my best friend.

I’m thankful for my little man, my baby Bean, my heart and soul. I’ve never been more thankful for the life God has given me and so much of it is owed to this little boy. Thankful for him for making me better, pushing me to be the very best mother — and woman — I can. I could go on to talk about more things — my house, my job, my car.

But at the end of the day, it really is all about our people. Because without them, nothing else matters. At all. Except maybe some extra whipped cream :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Just be

Thankful

Another Thursday another reminder to STOP, step away from my head (a difficult task nowadays) and just be. Be thankful, be present, be gracious, be humbled, be.

This week, I’m thankful for:

This album - every time life has felt especially tricky this past month, I listen to number four. Instant betterness.

Pumpkin bread (and my mama who made it)

Hot showers

Goodnight Moon and that 28 years later, it’s still just as amazing and has quickly become Bean’s favorite bedtime story.

Bear hugs

Tickle wars

Singing “in the jungle” with the Mister and Sawyer and watching Sawyer cackle with glee.

Good friends that don’t make me fill stupid when I rant and vent about trivial things

Scented candles

Tonight — I don’t know what it has in store, but a cozy couch and my snuggly Mister are all I need right now. I have a feeling it’s going to be magnificent.

Pinterest — now if only I could find an extra 5 hours every day to make and do everything that I’ve pinned.

The beautifulness of the fall season

Have you stepped away from your life to just “be?” What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful

I don’t know if it’s the abundance of fall fun, the cozy evenings in, the upcoming weekend, our my loving supportive family, but I am feeling oh-so-lucky.

I’ve been going through the past few weeks without counting my blessings and that’s just not OK with me. I can always — SHOULD always make time to call out the things I’m thankful for.

This week, I’m thankful for:

My mom – because she’s the best mom in the world and I wouldn’t be who I am without her

Pumpkin ice cream

Girls nights – dinner tonight with two of my favorites… I cannot wait :)

The Voice – so good

The Mister – who puts up with me and loves all of me, not just the good stuff. I can’t tell you how much I’ve annoyed him lately with home projects, pre-school obsession and my natural insanity. God, thank you so much for helping me find him — please continue to give him strength as he deals with my loonytoony-ness.

Pumpkin cream cheese

Bean’s newfound ability to sleep past 5:30 a.m. (knocks furiously on all wood-like surfaces)

I am one lucky girl.
