Happy 3 months, Beanie!
Categories:
It’s time.
Time to take the little rompers and sleepers that I’ve delicately folded and pack them away. Time to stop dwelling on the fact that he’s not that tiny anymore. Time to realize that he really is growing SO fast (like a weed I tell you!). Time to say goodbye to the little froggyfeet and snuggly sleepers that have kept my chest warm on so many nights. Time to part with all the memories we made in these oh-so-tiny clothes, like first smiles and midnight snuggles. And time to look forward to all the new memories we’ll make in the new, colorful clothing that’s begging to be worn by the cutest boy in the world.
Last week our little man hit his three month mark. And this past week, I cleaned out his drawers and packed away clothes that he’s outgrown. A simple task, really, but one that only a mother understands the true significance of… my little man is growing up.
I know I sound like a broken record, but as each day passes, I discover new things about him that make me love him even more. Like his infectious laughter, that starts in his belly (just like his Mama’s) and spreads throughout his entire body, eventually sounding like it’s coming from his itty bitty toes. And his curiosity for everything around him, never wanting to miss a beat. And the way his face lights up when me and the Mister get home from work, giving us exactly what we need at the end of a long day.
For those of you who missed them, you can still read about Bean’s one month and two month updates.
At three months, Sawyer…
- Recognizes me and the Mister
- Can roll over both ways!
- Reaches and grabs toys
- Can stand up with assistance
- Belly laughs
- Sits up without tipping over left/right (but needs to lean back on something)
- Smiles at other people
New loves:
- His orange ball
- Mommy’s made-up crazy songs…about anything
- Yo Gabba Gabba (as well as other various children’s shows)
- Sucking his hand
- His keys
- Rocking on the porch
New hates:
- Flash photography
- Large groups of people (and the fact that they get up in his grill)
- The church organ
Most common nicknames: Bean, Beanie, Soybean, Brim, Brimly, S.C.H…among the others I’ve mentioned previously.
