First Impressions
Categories:
This weekend the Mister and I bought baby clothes.
I know, I know, everyone says DON’T BUY clothes. But most of the clothes we received at the shower were 3-6 months and well, we can’t have the Little hanging out in his birthday suit for the first three months here on earth – after all, it is the middle of winter!
So off to the store we went.
Key findings:
- Everything looks adorable when “miniature”
- Yes, it really does cost that much
- We are not millionaires
Yes, I wanted to buy *almost* everything. And at one point, so did the Mister! I was actually the one holding HIM back (guess we know who’s going to be the one who spoils the little guy at every turn
) But we only ended up purchasing a few items — one of which that will ultimately become THE GOING HOME OUTFIT.
Going home outfit? (you may be asking yourself)
I too, was rather puzzled.
Well apparently this is a BIG DEAL, people.
And here I thought the little guy would just be wrapped up in some standard swaddling cloth and we’d be sent on our merry way.
Which only goes to show just how much I have to learn. No need to send emails or leave nasty comments, I have since been informed and we are well on our way to selecting an outfit. (That sounds odd, but you have no idea how hardcore some people are on this kinda stuff)
We are currently debating traditional or trendy…colorful or neutral…layered or simplistic…the opportunities are endless! This is after all our little man’s first reveal to the rest of the world — and first impressions are everything.
If you need me, I’ll likely be passed out in the nursery surrounded by monkey, monster and train appliques. Send help.
