The Daily Balance

Last year, the Mister and I took a pizza tour in NYC. This wasn’t any pizza tour. As you know, we take out za VERY seriously so we did it like professionals. You know, lots of research, mapping out the stops, etc. Turns out we made a pretty large error. We overlooked a MAJOR player in the NYC za world – Grimaldi’s!

No worries, though, this last time around we made sure to squeeze it in. Now, “squeeze it in” may sound a bit misleading, as this was not a quick little jaunt. No sir. But true deliciousness is hard work. 2 hours worth, in fact. 2 hours of standing in line, thinking I was going to starve The Little.

Some may think it’s insane to wait that long for food. These folks clearly haven’t tasted authentic, NYC style pizza.

No, I don’t normally go for pepperoni, but the Little must be a pep-lover because I could NOT stop eating this za – amazing!

Now, let’s stir up some controversy — do you prefer NYC za or the Chicago variety?

   I will always, ALWAYS, perfer chicago deep dish. I was born to some serious Chicagoans, and I was destined to love it, but my husband hates it. Must be a born into it kind of thing I guess.

   Grimaldi’s is my absolute favorite pizza in NYC! I’ve tried quite a few places…though I haven’t tried Patsy’s or Lucali’s. I must get to those!

   I’ve never tried Chicago style pizza but since I’m an NYC kinda girl I think I would prefer NYC pizza anyway!
