Try it – Get your pour on with Organic Valley yogurt

Try It

Every now and then you discover a food product that changes your life. Think I’m being dramatic? Then I point your attention to Naturally More, Flatouts, LARABARS, Sandwich thins, Vitamuffins and JELLO Mousse.

Now that I’ve made my point, I’d like to introduce pour-able yogurt.

After seeing it appear on a few blogs I decided to purchase a jug on my last jaunt to Whole Foods. While I wasn’t sure how good it would be, I trusted that at the very least, it wouldn’t go to waste (I kind of have a thing for Dairy ;) ).

Not sure what other brands are out there, but I selected Organic Valley’s plain, low-fat option.

I decided to turn this experiment into a complete breakfast by adding dorset muesli and some strawberries.

This was delicious! I loved the simplicity of the “plain” yogurt. It really allows the other flavors to shine, simply providing a creamy backdrop. I think this would be great in any cereal or with smoothies. I would imagine it would work quite well in soups, too! If you want to make a bisque or otherwise creamy, indulgent soup, keep things healthy by adding a bit of this pourable yogurt.

Have you tried pourable yogurt? How do you enjoy it?

i agree with you about the reasons you love the simplicity of plain yogurt- it is kind of an acquired taste, but good nonetheless, especially wiht the perfect pairs like fruit & granola :) have a great day!

    xoxoxo

  2. I’ve tried that yogurt and I love it! I saw it on sale at WF a while ago and I decided why not give it a go… Kinda like Kefir and yogurt mixed. It’s fabulous in a smoothie!

  3. I use to eat Go-gurts back in college but not anymore. I’ve never tried a jug of yogurt, not sure how I feel about this one, although your bowl of muesli and strawberries does look yum. The thought of putting it in soup or bisque threw me off at first, but I always use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and like it, so I think you might be on to something!

  8. I know this post was about the yogurt, but I can’t get over how good that muesli looks!! And the package is so cute! (which embarassingly enough, -always- wins me over).

  9. Never even heard of it, but it could be great for cereal!

  10. I haven’t tried it. I generally like thicker yogurts, but you are right it could be a good creamy addition to a soup or a sauce.

We love this yogurt! Lately we have been freezing it in Popsicle molds for a yummy summer time treat. The best part is OV is owned by farmers and the milk is kept regional.
