Happy Wednesday!
I’ve been a bad blogger (cue the boo-ing), as I didn’t give a proper re-cap to P90X- Week 3.
The structure of the week was identical to Week 1 and Week 2. But while it was the same, it was very, very different. At this point, I’m going to tell you that if you can make it past week 3, you have a real shot at completing this thing.
Why, you ask? Because the hype has worn off at this point. The workouts are no longer new and Tony Horton is beginning to grate on your nerves. You think “Would it really make a difference if I just skipped a day of this?”
The answer is yes, yes it would. Not that I would know anything about that. (In all seriousness, I DID NOT take a day off, just strongly considered it
)
In my heart of hearts, I believe week 3 was designed to weed out all the people who just aren’t committed, aren’t serious enough. Like the first semester of Law School! Or so I hear…
Week 3 is more of a mental challenge than a physical one. In fact, the workouts are getting easier! And if you are keeping track of your reps and weights, like a good lil P90Xer, you’re probably noticing that you are getting progressively stronger each week. And that, my friends, makes all of this craziness worth it. I promise.
So keep waking up early, keep pressing “play” and keep bringing it. If I can do it, so can you.
Consider this your “pat on the back.” KEEP GOING!

Great work on P90X! I did my first round of P90X last summer and saw fantastic results. I didn’t skip a single day. I now use it regularly as part of my home-based work-out routine, doing at least two of the resistance DVD’s per week, around other cardio-based workouts. You should also try “Insanity” (from same company). It is awesome. Even after completing P90X, it knocked my socks off.
By the way, I still cannot do a single unassisted pull-up! This is a goal in life: to be able to do one perfect pull-up.
Thanks for the love

I’m looking for a new fitness venture…..hope to have news soon
Hey! I just started doing crossfit, which is very similar to P90X in that it is VERY intense and usually a full body work out. I looked into P90X, but I find that I work out better with other people around…so that I don’t slack off…and with these kinds of workouts, you get the most out of it when you put EVERYTHING into it.
I’m not sure if you’ve done crossfit before, but it might be worth looking into once you finish your 90 days…there are affiliates all over the country…I highly recommend it!
I have been seriously slacking and haven’t worked out in weeks! Today I’m starting back with pilates. I have so many events coming up, I need to get in gear. Oh, and my 16 yr. old son has the door frame pull-up bar & can do like 10 in a row with no problem. How’s that for depressing! Still can’t do even one either.
I can’t wait until you get to your rest week. I want to hear your thoughts on Core Synergetics. I HATED it. But, I am LOVING month 2. It’s harder than months 1 & 3 (in my opinon), but it’s so much fun!
Ok, I’m really still not bought on P90X. I mean I can’t judge since I’ve never tried it, but to me it seems really strenuous and over-the-top, and I know that I won’t do something after a while if I dread doing it. But again, can’t judge without experience. And it’s awesome that you’re doing it!
Way to stay committed! The pic at the end is too cute.
My husband just started P90X! He couldn’t move for a couple days following his start, but he’s doing great now. Good luck!
HAHA!!! That picture is hilarious! Chihuahuas are so awkward…
I will definitely be back to see how you like P90X as you progress. We have the dvds, but I haven’t given them a try. We have a small NYC apartment and I am nervous I won’t have enough room. Do you find you need a lot of space to do the workouts?
Thanks for coming by my blog–I love new comments because I keep finding all of these great blogs, like yours! I will check back to see how you do on the P9OX, I enjoy reading about and then trying new workouts.
Do you like P90X? I am really interested in doing it, but don’t know that much about it. I just moved from Chicago and living at home in my small town where the gym in sub par. I was looking for a new workout and was considering this.
Good post with lots of useful details. My fitness program consists mainly of high intense interval training. I discover that I am most productive I exercise within the morning.
