Thankful Thursday – for all the moms out there (but especially MINE) ;)

Thankful

Mother’s Day is this weekend.

HOLY BAJOLEY, where has the time gone?!

Last year I wrote a post dedicated to my mom. You should read it, cuz it’s awesome.

Last year the Mister and I made a lovely spread for my Mom at my parents’ house.

This year, the Mister and I will be taking to the kitchen once more. But it will be at OUR house and My in-laws will be joining us. I cannot WAIT to share what I’m we’re making. The dessert? To die for. Let’s just say Pioneer Woman has something to do with it ;)

Let’s get on with it, shall we!

Mom, thank you for being you. More importantly thank you for letting me be, well, me. I know I’m a lot to handle, but just know that I’m everything I am because of YOU (remember that when I make you mad ;) ).

Thank you for being there. Whenever. Wherever. To put it simply, you are the most selfless person I know and we (Justin and I) do not tell you nearly enough how much you are appreciated.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.  ~Washington Irving

Thank you for being that person. I thank God every day that he picked me to be your daughter.

I love you ;)

Why are you thankful for YOUR Mama? How are you celebrating Mother’s Day this year?

Aww, you and your mom are adorable! I’m thankful for my mom because she has to deal with ME everyday. It’s not as easy as you’d might think… I might be the model child, with good grades, obedient and everything, but I’m always rebelling on the ED front. I thank her for all the support she’s given me… and I’ll always love moms! They’re awesome people :D

I’m not celebrating Mother’s Day… :( My mom’s going to be travelling on that day! But I might make her some pancakes, haha… :D

    So sweet!

My Mom is flying in to stay with me for two weeks while the Husband is out for business. My Husband flew her up here as a present to her and I for Mother’s Day.

We are going to spend it eating and playing with her Grandkids (my Midgets).

My mom is always there no matter what. I will always do the same for my son because it meant the most to me that she was always there for me (and still is!).
    Have a great weekend celebrating!!

  6. My mom has always supported me and loved me. I am not sure what I will do for her, but I will show her how much I appreciate all that she does for me!

  7. how cute are you and you mamma!

  8. My mom and I went through a rough patch when I was 12/13–that’s a tough age–but thankfully we both survived and are now really close.

  9. I’ve got 3 little ones…and am worried about the relationships that I create early on. Not too buddy, buddy…or too strict like my parents. Enough to give you a headache!

  10. Thanks so much for checking out my Flaming Lips post! :-D

Sounds like you’ve got some great stuff planned for your Mama. I am especially intrigued by the mystery dessert.

I am thankful for my Mom because she has been there for me time and time again. She helped me pick up the pieces after a tough breakup, has endured heavy lifting and paint fumes every time I’ve moved, and probably a lot of other stuff that I otherwise took for granted. Now that I am older and more mature, we are starting to enjoy a close friendship as well. She’s great!

  11. I’m SO thankful for my Mom! She’s my best friend and has put up with my many ups and downs without ever passing judgement. Help and encouragement is all I ever get, and she truly believes in me.

Now, she is taking care of my son while I work. I’m so glad he’s developing a close relationship with her as well.

This year is my first Mother’s Day :) , and I plan to spend it with my Mom and my son. A little reflection on how lucky I am is called for, I think. And, of course, a special and very healthy dinner is in the works!

  13. [...] I could have very easily had a successful Mother’s Day lunch by simply serving my mouth-watering cake, the rest of the meal was quite a success, as well! [...]
