I keep trying turnips different ways. Yes, they do somewhat taste like potatos, I know exactly what you mean by that turnip taste. Maybe if I keep trying, I'll get used to that. They are really low carb and I try to stick to that, but have gotten really bored with my usual selections, so I'm trying to find something different to eat. I'n going to try the recipe above and see how that works for me. Thanks!

If you boil the turnips, add a potato. It will take away any bitterness the turnips may have.

I'm not much for turnips. I grew them in my garden last year and that sharp almost bitter taste they have really gets to me. Not sure why. Your dish looks really yummy though and I have a surplus of turnips STILL so maybe I'll give them another whirl.

I love turnips and often use them in place of a potato. I have a great recipe for Corn Chowder that uses potato and I often replace them with chunks of turnip. Your recipe sounds yummy!

I had turnips for the first time for Christmas when my friend brought some over mashed, they are yummy. I never think to pick some up, maybe I will next grocery trip.
