Thankful Thursday – #HappyinCLE

Thankful

I’ve been wanting to address this issue on the blog for awhile now. For those of you who haven’t heard — Forbes.com gave the middle finger to my HOMETOWN. Not cool, Forbes, not cool.

So, I’m giving it right back to them.

This week, I’m thankful for Cleveland.

My reasons? I’m so glad you asked.

1.) THE FOOD! Home to Michael Symon (among many other ‘greats’), I’m constantly redefining my new list of favorites. Which include: TAZA, Melange, L’Albatros, Marottas, NAYA, Michaelangelos, Momocho - the list goes ON

2.) LEBRON! Need I say more?

3.) PlayhouseSquare – which is second in the country to NYC (seriously) – I’ll be there tonight for the Lexus Style Show!

4.) The Cleveland Art Museum

5.) The Cleveland Zoo

6.) Cleveland sports fans, and the fact that we NEVER give up

7.) The Cleveland Metroparks

8.) Because it’s home to Malley’s Chocolate, GREAT LAKES CHRISTMAS ALE

9.) Because Cleveland ROCKS! (thanks, Drew Carey ;) )

Need more reasons — check this baby out!

Why are you thankful for YOUR city?

I have never been to Cleveland, Forbes can suck it though! If you like your hometown, be proud:)

Its great when people love their hometown. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks! I live in Boston and love it because it is near the ocean and my family on Cape Cod :)

I love New York. I feel like it is practically my identity (it’s not my blog header for any ol’ reason). It’s glamorous and gritty and beautiful and dirty and rich and broke and crazy all at once and it’s more than just a part of who I am. And every time I get off the subway in New York, or I’m crossing the bridge, or I’m walking across campus and I see that gorgeous skyline, I just feel calm.

Well, I live in NYC now, but am originally from Winnipeg, Canada.

There are a lot of not so great things about Winnipeg… like the fact that it is the coldest big city in the world and is known for it’s mosquitoes, ..er…unattractiveness and of course freezing weather.

BUT I’m still thankful for it because of the people. We’re known as “Friendly Manitoba” and it’s definitely true, we’re a friendly bunch! And Winnipeg has a great Arts scene, and lots of sunshine! So…it’s not so bad :)

I am currently in Middletown, RI and while I am not a fan I am a fan of my hometown. Austin, TX. Amazing city, so much to do. Such great culture. I want to go back!

I’m from Jackson, MS. I talk a lot of crap about it, but honestly I’m thankful for it because it’s my HOME. I know the ins and outs of it, I can always go there and know where I am. It’s where I go when I want to feel in control. That’s why I’m thankful for it.

I was reading that earlier this wk and was shocked that Cleveland was on there. Never heard anything that miserable about it. I have only been there once for a concert back in college and had a great time :)

Im still learning to love Charlotte but I love the small town feel in some parts, southern hospitality, good public transportation system and men who are polite!

  10. Cleveland sounds great!!

I live in Vancouver and I love all of the trees and great places to go hiking!!!
