Announcement – Beach bound

Did I mention that the Mister is a poker star? Last year he won almost $10,000 in a “world series of poker” qualifier tournament. Instead of taking the ticket to play in the WSOP Main event, he took the cash. This year, he won the SAME TOURNAMENT! While we all urged him to take the ticket, he again, took the cash. Student loans, people, student loans.

But that doesn’t mean that he didn’t want to do SOMETHING to celebrate his winnings! And since the Mister is the most generous person I know, he decided to take a chunk of his winnings and take us on a VACATION! While the Mister and I take many “getaways” or long-weekend trips (like Chicago, Toronto, NYC), we really haven’t been on a “real” vacation since our honeymoon.

This July, we’ll be headed to…… Puerto Rico, Vieques Island!

We’re staying the at the new W hotel, which opens this spring.

GAAAHHHHHHHH! I am so so so so so SOOOOOOO excited! I can hardly contain myself. Less than four months until paradise ;)

What is the most memorable vacation you’ve ever taken? Why?

    That is awesome! My hubby won almost $2K playing video poker once, we used it towards kitchen renovations. LOL If we were to win that much again, it would definitely go towards vacation!

    Our most memorable would definitely have to be our honeymoon, although I loved packpacking around Europe for a month when I got done with graduate school.

    Most memorable vacay – there are several but right now I have to say the seven weeks I spent in Thailand, particularly the two weeks we spent in the south of Thailand, beachin’ and boozin’.

    Congrats on the upcoming vacation! I’m so jealous! It’s been awhile since we’ve been able to take a vacation but we used to go to Vegas a lot. Those were pre-children days. These days, it’s Monster Jam centered getaways since the boys love it. :)

    That will be such a lovely vacation for you. This past weekend I took a mini holiday with my mum- we went to a resort and hiked for a couple days. It was so relaxing and tons of fun to just GET AWAY from it all!
