Daily Delish – Guacamole and mind control

Daily Delish

I’m about to commit a blogging FELONY. I am about to KNOWINGLY post a terrible photo. I know it is a terrible photo. I do not need to be told it’s a terrible photo, nor do I think you won’t notice it’s a terrible photo. Let’s just get that out of the way now.

Phew! Moving on…

Here’s the most delicious thing I have eaten all week (prepare yourselves for the aforementioned photo):

OK, for real this time

BAM!

Now that wasn’t SO bad, was it? Are your eyes still in tact? No blood? Phew! See by making you believe the photo was FAR WORSE than it actually is, it doesn’t look too bad, does it? HA! Consider yourself foiled! Me= mind control genius ;)

This sandwich was so incredibly simple but so undeniably delicious. Since the photo is just so terrible, I’ll break it down for you.

Simply toast the bagel, mash the ‘cado (it’s what the cool kids are saying, get on board) and spread on bagel, top with sliced tomato and season with a bit of salt. My aunt (foodie guru) swears by adding a bit of balsamic, as well, but I didn’t have any — NEXT TIME! As if I needed a reason to make this again!

Is my love of guac/avocado becoming a problem? I didn’t think so…

How do you like to show your love for this marvelous fruit? Yes folks, it IS a fruit.

  1. guac is my fave…but mashed up and thrown in a smoothie is face-rocking as well!

  2. I am likely one of the minority, but I don’t like avacados. I know, crazy talk.

  3. I love adding avocado to my sandwiches and salads. I feel they are not complete without it!

  4. I LOVE guacamole. My fiance makes the best! I didn’t know that they were a fruit- interesting!

  5. Avocado is actually one of the few fruits I actually eat. Is that weird? Yes. But I am unapologetic for it! ha.

I’m quite the fan of guac. I find ways to put it into/on almost anything. But I’ll also do the plain avocado with a bit of salt on toast… yum

Hey I’ve posted terrible photos many-a-time! All in the name of bloggin, eh?
I plan on chowing some ‘cado next week on my spring break! It’s hard to make avocados work well in a dorm room.

  7. My husband and I were just arguing about whether or not an avocado is a fruit…thank you for clearing that up! (for the record, I was right!) ;)

  8. Man I love avocados too……I think its an addiction!

  9. Why didn’t I think of that!

    YUM!

  10. Wow, that photo is terrible.

Such a great combo. ‘Cados on anything are pretty much heaven…I love them on a sammie with hummus. So good. Have a great night!

yum- i LOVE guac…it is the best thing everrr.

  13. There is a Columbian soup that is traditionally served with a half avacado. You slice of a sliver with your spoon and then dip it into the soup and eat. It’s super good. http://locallemons.com/local_lemons/2009/03/traditional-ajiaco-soup.html

I put avocado on every sandwich I make. They are also good in omelets!

Yep. Avocado+tomato+good bread=best sandwich ever. Maybe a touch of salt, a squeeze of lime, but who needs anything else? So. So. So. So. So. So. So good.

  17. I love it straight up, with some salt, eating it with a spoon!
    Love you blog!!!
