Daily Delish – HOLY GUACAMOLE!

Categories:

Daily Delish

How do you jazz up an otherwise medicore California burger (that’s not fair, they are actually quite delicious on their own…but I digress..)?

You add a sweet potato and a heck of a lot more guac! Well not technically guacamole, because I simply mashed up an avocado without adding anything extra, but you catch my drift don’t you, snowflakes?

My, oh my! This kinda meal makes my whole Lent situationnot so bad! And you KNOW that I used the other half of the avocado to smear on top of my sweet potato – another fantastic combo!

Don’t go too far, I’ll be back soon with Thankful Thursday!

What do you add to your burgers (veggie or reg!) to make them more flavorful?

Daily Delish – BACON

Daily Delish

Bacon=deliciousness. And no, not KEVIN!

From chocolate covered, to milkshakes (at the B spot!), pizza and ice cream, bacon is taking (or has taken?) the world by storm.

Do not even TRY to tell me otherwise. I know that some of you are vegetarians and don’t eat bacon for ethical reasons — but don’t even try and tell me it isn’t mouth-watering delicious. Because I don’t take kindly to liars. Sure, some of you may not like the IDEA of bacon and some of you may be grossed out with the process of making bacon. But you bet your little hiney that If i told you it was the newest organic vegetable from the earth, you’d shout for joy in adoration. Am I taking this a bit too far? I tend to do that sometimes…

My point is – bason is marvelous.

What isn’t marvelous is fat and cholesterol. Luckily, there are several healthier options out there that still deliver the awesomeness of all that is “bacon,” without making us commit healthy eating crimes.

My favorite option out there (that I eat 3-4 times a week):

Whole Foods carries an ORGANIC turkey bacon, which I also enjoy, but Butterball wins due to price and convenience. Each slice is only 25 calories (so naturally I have at least 2), with only 1.5 grams of fat.

To complete one of my favorite breakfasts, I enjoy bacon alongside two REAL eggs (sunny side up or over easy) and toast (or rudi’s bagel). As yummy as eggs and toast may be, it just isn’t breakfast without my chewy strips of saltiness!

Are you a fan of bacon? Do you do the real thing? go turkey? go veg?
