Try it – Don’t ‘knock’ it till ya try it!

Try It

Knock offs. They have such a negative connotation, don’t they? Cheap. Poorly constructed. Posers. All I know is that I would NEVER be caught dead in a fake Louis — first of all, everyone knows it’s fake, so you aren’t fooling anyone. Second of all, there are so many other GOOD-QUALITY options that are affordable! ie – Michael Kors, Nine West, Fossil… but I digress. See you get me talkin’ about purses and I go off on a tangent — classic.

Anyway, my point is that my opinion on knock-offs is not a positive one.

But we all get at least one mistake, right? (well in my case, maybe a few more ;) ) riiiiight? RIGHT?! (someone, please say “right!”)

Phew! Okay good.

Introducing: a knock off that is better than the original (for now): Pepperidge Farm Deli Flats

Yes, yes, I know we all love our Arnold. But no one said we can’t have a little fun or at least LOOK at the competition, no? ;)

All’s far in love and war, my friends. And this…is…love.

Here’s the truth of the matter, my dears. As always, I procrastinated going to the grocery store. That meant that I had to deal with the picked-over lot of products. Not only were all my Kashi’s gone, but I couldn’t find ONE package of Arnold’s. It was then that I saw the little Deli Flats. Tucked onto the shelf neatly they cried, pick us! WE ARE ENOUGH!  And like any good knock-off they looked good enough. They were passable. But would my mouth agree?

For those of you who are extra perceptive, you’ll notice I recently gave these Deli Flats a go at my PB dessert. But who can mess up peanut butter and chocolate? So I made sure I tested these guys out in other capacities– sandwiches, toast, you name it.

The Verdict? These are DELICIOUS! I find them to be much doughier than Arnold, and you all know how much I love my dough-factor ;)

Of course when I was at the grocery store this weekend I noticed Arnold recently introduced a Honey Wheat flavor — and thus, the race to the top continues another day…

For the record, I got the 7 Grain

Have you tried Pepperidge Farm Deli Flats? What did you think?

Make sure you send me your Fashion Friday photos? I have a pretty awesome prize lined up for this week!

  1. I haven’t tried either one actually – I do the Orowheat (aka find ‘em at walmart) kind, but they are definitely good enough to keep buying! i’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for the other brands though :)

  2. Ok, thats it, im trying these darn things… They look great, but I’ve hesitated because no one I knew had tried them!

I’ve seen them, but hesitated because they look a bit smaller, cost a bit more, and I haven’t seen any with 100% whole grain which I really do prefer for the most part.
