Daily Delish – A match made in heaven

Daily Delish

While I often proclaim my love for the peanut butter and banana pairing, I pulled a new Mistress out for Mr. PB tonight.

Ms. Banana, you may have met your match — yes, the silky, decadent and smooth, Miss Chocolate Chip has stepped into the (Arnold Sandwich Thin) ring.

Taking a cue from Miss Tina, I slathered a sandwich thin (to be entirely accurate, it was the Pepperidge Farm knock-off) with my favorite peanut butter (Naturally More, of course!) and delicately topped smothered it with chocolate chips.

I let this baby take a spin in the microwave for 10 seconds — and…

oh. my. word.

The bread-base got all doughy-like in the microwave and it honestly tasted as if I were eating a decadent baked good — or donut! (for the record, I prefer the Pepperidge Farm Arnold Sandwich Thin knock-off – it is doughier tasting ;) )

drool-worthy.

Make this now. Or don’t — more for me.

What treat do you make yourself that is super indulgent tasting but incredibly easy and (somewhat) healthy? I could use more ideas!

  1. Yum! I did the same thing the other night with just a boring piece of bread and it was heavenly — Tina’s a genius!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  3. I’ve been interested in these snacks. I’m on a bread making kick so I just have to figure out how to make sandwich thins and I’ll be all set.

Hi! I’ve recently started reading your blog via Carrots ‘n Cake and it’s really cute and interesting. I like how you bring the different elements of your life into one place.

I really need to try one of these little treats and I think I may need to add sandwich thins to my grocery list next week. Especially since you shared the idea to heat it!

    Take care,
    Michelle

Looks awesome…I need to try that soon!

  11. I’ve done this before as well. I’ve stuck mine on a tortilla too. That is quite good too!

  12. Yum, that combo is out of this world!!!
My go-to healthy dessert starts with yogurt, Greek nonfat yogurt. Sometimes i’ll blend some up with 1/2 banana as a base and it’s incredible! Or just use plain yogurt that you can sweeten with sugar, maple syrup, agave nectar, etc. And the toppings are endless!! I like the combo of pumpkin butter, bananas, and white choc chips..yum!! Also, peanut butter, almond butter, dark choc chips, toffee bits,… use your imagination!!!
