I was a BAD blogger and did not take photos of the amazing tilapia, scallops or perogies! I’m sorry! At this point, I’d like to give HUGE props to my MOM, who managed to pull off an AMAZING dinner with only one of her legs functioning (due to foot surgery — love you, Mama ;) )

The Mister and I then headed over to his aunt’s house where more goods times were had and way too many cookies were comsumed.

The next morning, we heded back to my parents for brunch and presents.

my aunt made the best pancakes!

We also enjoyed an incredible turkey sausage frittata, yogurt and granola and fresh cinnamon bread my aunt picked up from Amish Country.

I’ll admit it, I got some AMAZING presents. I’m incredibly lucky to have a family that is able to spoil me. But I’m not sharing any of the gifts I received. Why? Because it’s not what Christmas is about. And when I think back on Christmas, I’m not going to remember what pair of boots or purse I was given — I’m going to remember spending it with my amazing family, waking up next to my Mister knowing I already have everything I need, laughing till my stomach hurt and debating about which one of my grandma’s cookies are the best.

I hope all of you made some incredible memories ;)

Which memory was your favorite this year? How will YOU remember Christmas?

I’m going to remember this Christmas as the first one with our new puppy and as the year we had nearly 40 people over for tamales.

I think it’s fab that you’re no focusing on the presents. I can only speak for myself, but the presents that I remember vividly are memorable because of the thought that went into them. I’m lucky to have some really special people in my life who like to make that kind of thoughtful gesture!

Thanks for making me think about this, and enjoy your week off.

  2. you always have such a great attitude and outlook on things…Christmas is definitely about spending fun times with the people you love! So glad to see you back :)

Oh wow! What a wonderful spread – that Polish sweet bread sounds fantastic! I’ll remember this Christmas as being different from normal. It’s different due to something that happened in the spring and is bittersweet but that’s the way life is :)

Great post, and you and the Mister sure look snazzy :)

I agree, this season is certainly about love and being together and enjoying all that we have been blessed with!

  8. That’s a very sweet comment to make — Christmas definitely is not about the gifts! This year, I have so much I will remember . . . my brother proposing to his girlfriend, the romantic morning my husband and I had on Christmas day, my poor husband going to the hospital on the 27th . . . but most of all, the love and togetherness I felt through it all.
