Try it – The tough cookie’s secret weapon

Try It

To be candid with you (and aren’t I always?) I’ve been a hot mess.

After my kickball battle scars and newly pulled quad muscle from the game last night (seriously, I think kickball hates me ;( ), I have seen better days.

It upsets me because I see myself as a very ‘in shape’ and athletic person. So why then, am I the only one who can’t get through an effing (pardon me, but I turn into a sailor when angry ;) ) kickball game in one piece? SO FRUSTRATING.

I must have done something when kicking the ball last night because the entire front part of my quad was killing me. I consider myself to be a pretty tough cookie, and I was fighting to hold back tears. I couldn’t put weight on it without feeling as if the muscle was splitting open. Luckily the Mister was sweet enough to take care of me.

After icing it for about 20 minutes, I sent him out in a search to find something that would help my pain, but wasn’t in pill-form. With my upcoming surgery, I can’t take ANY pain medication.

The genius came back with these:

hot therapy

Magic in a box.

I slept with this bad boy all night and awoke to a much happier leg. It still hurts when I put weight on it or stretch it out, but it’s bearable. Like I said — tough cookie over here ;)

tough cookie

If you are suffering from any muscle pain — back, leg, shoulder, etc. I suggest you go out and buy some of these lovely hot patches — pronto! They really do work wonders.

Have you tried hot therapy before? What do you normally use to ease muscle pulls and soreness?

Good to know that it worked so well! My neck was killing me a few days ago and I had no heating pads around so I heated up a wash cloth with my blow dryer and put that around my neck! I’m definitely going to try these heating pads now :)
