Try it – The Yankee Peddler Festival

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

The Mister was kind enough to be a good sport and take me to one of my favorite fall activites this past weekend, The Yankee Peddler Festival.

From the Web site:

Step back in time 200 years and visit pioneer America with master artists and crafters setting up rustic shops along streams and amid lovely wooded dales, with foods and snacks cooked over open fires, and with non-stop entertainment across the 75-acre grounds. Keep up to the hour and follow events with the Town Criers. Visit with the militia and mountain men, or learn crafts with hands-on instruction. Visit with the master crafters and artists while they demonstrate the way they transform nature into something unique for you and yours.

Doesn’t that sound fun?! I thought so too!

Many of you already know about my festive spirit, so this little activity should come as no surprise!

The Mister and I made a whole day of it and started with a breakfast that I’ll share later (get excited kiddos, it was amazing!). We then set out on the old dusty trail (er, highway) for an hour long drive to the Festival.

While I didn’t find the artisan who created my favorite Halloween decorations, the Mister and I had a great time on our little adventure in the woods!

I just know the Mister is looking forward to all the other fun activities I have up my sleeve — apple picking, pumpkin patch, haunted train ride, the list goes on!

What is your favorite fall activity?

ALSO: For those of you who missed the radio show this morning, you can check it out on the ‘From My Mama’s Kitchen’ Web site.
