The Queen of Parfaits, Miss K, will be quite pleased with today’s Daily Delish. Another fantastic Toronto find, I knew I would want to make a trip to Lady Marmalade as soon as I lay eyes on their tantalizing menu. Lady marmalade serves breakfast ALL DAY – my kinda place!
There were so many incredible looking dishes, I couldn’t decide! So I did what I always do – asked the waitress for her recommendation (I mean they would know best, right?). Side note: I HATE it when they reply “everything is good!” That is not helpful. at all. This waitress (bless her heart) complied with my indecisive request. She suggested the fruit and yogurt parfait and I was sold. The fresh fruit parfait was described on the menu as such “layered w/ yogurt, granola, honey, & served w/ half a toasted cinnamon bagel & berry coulis.” Now doesn’t that sound lovely?

This was heaven! The cinnamon raisin bagel was an incredible treat — I never have bagels! I used to have them all the time, but I always forget about these delicious gems (or maybe I don’t want to spend the 300 cals?!). Well, I should indulge more often, because they are so worth it! Doughy and chewy with a bit of buttery goodness – YUMMO! (PLUS aren’t PUMPKIN bagels – and cream cheese!- available at most places now?)
The parfait itself was to.die.for. The fruit was so fresh (including kiwi, strawberries, mango, pineapple and banana) and the house-made granola was crunchy but still soft (from the yogurt maybe?). Thank goodness they didn’t sell this stuff by the bag or I would have eaten myself into a granola coma by now – so delicious!
Note: this place only accepts cash at the moment — VERY ANNOYING, but there is a bank just a few shops away and it’s totally worth the hassle
How many of you eat bagels regularly? Or are they more of a special treat?

That parfait looks amazing – love the dangling bagel on the side! I do love bagels, but don’t eat them often, either – too many cals. for this girl . . . I’m into VOLUME so I need to eat less calorie-dense foods most of the time. When we’re in NYC, though, I do it up with a “real” bagel – usually salt, w/whitefish salad, red onion, tomato – the works. One of my favorite things.
Miss K shall be very proud — that parfait looks straight out of a restaurant, chica!
Amazing parfait! WOW!
So I try to keep bagels a special treat but I have found that in this week alone I have consumed 3. So much for the “treat” part of it. lol
That’s beautiful!! What a great choice, and what a helpful waitress!
I don’t crave bagels very often, so I don’t really eat them a lot. If I do want one, I try to find a really good one. I usually want some sort of special cream cheese on their too. YUM!
