Fashion Friday – Something borrowed

Welcome new readers! Just a quick note that the blog makes a lot more sense if you start at the beginning and read a bit about me.

So you all know by now how awesome my mom is, right? What some of you may not know if that she is quite a fashionista! In fact, taking a good look in her closet is often just like scanning the racks at some of my favorite stores. And I always leave with something ‘new.’ (She is kind enough to overlook the fact that most of her things are returned with spaghetti stains and other results of my klutzy mishaps – love you, mom!)

This week I borrowed one of her skirts that caught my eye. The weather was quite fall-like (love it!), so I paired it with a pair off boots and jean jacket for a laid-back office look. I love this skirt because it could also easily be worn with a tank top and flip flops. But the vibrant colors and black accents make it a perfect transition piece for fall.

Super cute! Talbots does have some pretty great stuff sometimes!

I’m a good four inches shorter than my mom, so we can’t share clothes or shoes, but she’s got some pretty awesome jewelry that I like to borrow.

    Enjoy your trip!!!

  4. Lizzy – I love high-fashion stuff, but hate spending $$, so I LOVE Saks Outlet and Nordstrom Outlet. If I’m not there, I normally shop at independent, non chain-store boutiques – I find so many unique pieces that aren’t ‘what everyone else is wearing.’ What about you?

When I lived in the same city as my Mom I use to borrow her jewelry and shoes all the time. Now when I go back her jewelry and shoes are the first things I check out. New reader and I love the blog by the way!

My Mom is adorable and a little nerdy, so the only thing I borrow from her is fleece and hiking boots! I love it though!!

You look amazing, and as usual, your hair is flawless.
