Thankful Thursday – In the moment

This week I’m thankful that I have finally realized I need to live in the moment.

After a long walk and talk with the Mister last night, I realized that so often I think about my next steps and what I want out of life, that I sometimes fail to realize the beauty of what’s in front of me.

I fixate on ‘where I want to be’ in regards to my job, school (going back for PhD), family (KIDS!), home-life (HOUSE), etc., that sometimes I forget about what I have NOW.

The fact is, when I WAKE UP and look around…I’ve got it pretty good.

I am married to the love of my life, am supported by my fantastic family, live in a trendy area that is full of culture and ‘hidden gems,’ have a job that encourages my creativity and have an outlet to express myself via The Daily Balance.

To further drive home my ‘live in the moment’ mentality, I figured this would be a good week for a list.

This week, I’m thankful for:

Pumpkin Spice Lattes

The generosity of everyone in regards to the Blogger Bake Sale

Me and the Mister’s upcoming trip to Toronto! (we leave tomorrow!)

My Mister, for reminding me to live in the moment

The fact that fall is right around the corner!

Wearing fall boots this week! (I don’t care if you think I’m crazy, it was chilly!)

The upcoming birthday dinners (the Mister’s bday in on Sunday! – We’re celebrating with his Dad tonight and my parents on Monday)

The long weekend

Scented candles

The fact that every day with the Mister is my new ‘best day of my life’

Good conversation

LOVED this post – it is so easy to get wrapped up in daily life that you really just have to sit down, take a deep breath and look around at what you DO have, not what you don’t!

I am thankful I have a kitchen to cook in, a family who appeciates the love I put in my food and we have a roof over our head, no matter how small our house is!

I am definitely one who is ALWAYS looking to the future. I’m always anticipating whats going to happen or planning for tomorrow when in reality, I should be embracing today. Thanks for this post, my love xo
