Remember when I talked about taking summer pieces and making them work for the fall?
Well I had the opportunity to practice what I preach this week when the temperatures dropped to the 60s!
I started with a summer jersey dress from Anthropologie and added:
- Long sleeved black shirt to layer underneath: BCBG
- Black leather bomber vest: Nordstrom Rack
- Black Boots: Boutique in Chicago – Jeffrey Campbell
- Belt: Cannot remember!
- Black watch necklace: Marc Jacobs

Close up #2
I am OBSESSED with this jacket/vest. I think it will be a great layering piece to take me into fall/winter and I love that I can wear it with a dress or just a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I’m so happy I found it, as I’m sure it’s going to become my seasonal piece.
What piece are you most excited to wear this season?
For some reason, I was really craving a big sandwich today. So the Mister and I got take out at one of our favorite ‘quick fixes,’ Jimmy Johns.
I ordered the Beach Club, which includes lettuce, tomato, turkey, sprouts, avocado spread and provolone cheese, all stacked on 7-grain bread.

I could barely fit it in my mouth!
This was incredibly fresh, incredibly delish and definitely hit the spot!
I’m off to go cuddle up with the Mister and share some dessert
Hope you are all having a fantastic evening!
What ingredients would you use to make your perfect sandwich?
Seems like a good day to make a list, doesn’t it? Taking a few minutes to reflect on what was good this week can turn around the gloomiest of moods — there is always SOMETHING to be thankful for.
This week I’m thankful for:
- The Mister surprising me and cleaning the house
- Project Runway starting up again
- The fact that Fall is just around the corner!
- A recipe turning out just right
- Getting the opportunity to catch up with an old friend
- Things finally working out at work
- Having more time to read
- My new-found motivation (kettle bell or th gym ever day this week!)
