Thankful – Here’s to the good days ;)

Thankful

Health: (noun) the general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor.

Seems so simple, doesn’t it? But for most of us, it’s not until we have a problem or issue that we truly value our health. With my surgery tomorrow, I thought today would be a great day to reflect on how lucky I’ve been in regards to my health. Sure, I had surgery a few years ago and am getting it again, but it’s a simple procedure and I’m LUCKY to be able to have it. This surgery, long term, is actually going to make me MORE healthy. I’m so grateful for the resources and technology to make that possible.

So often we focus on what’s wrong with our bodies — a sore throat, an injured leg, stuffy nose, the list goes on. But on days void of aches, pains and stuffy noses, do you take a few moments to think about how lucky you are to have your health? C’mon! Be truthful. Do you actually thank whatever it is you believe in for your health? Yea, me neither. But, WE SHOULD! And moving forward, I’m really going to focus on being grateful for all the good days.

So, here’s to all our good days ;)

What are you thankful for today?

Great post! You’re right, we need to focus on what’s right about our bodies, not harp on what’s wrong.

amen babe! i often times find myself throwing a pity party and getting so upset about the slightest thing that’s going wrong with my body — but it’s so important to recognize how fortunate we are to have health!

Your blog is gorgeous! did you design it yourself? and did you have a problem adding google ads as well as the foodbuzz widget? I would love to know.

I have surgery coming up too and I hope yours goes well despite the rescheduling! That is such a bummer that it caused so many issues. It does take planning- someone picking me up, taking care of me for two days after, the pain, ugh!
