Described on the Nature’s Path Web site as ”a unique post workout formula that revitalizes with 10 grams of protein and a bonus dose of anti-oxidant matcha green tea and Omega-3 fatty acids rich flax seeds,” this cereal was one of the best I’ve had in a LONG time.

Optimum Banana Almond Cereal

Ingredients: Organic rolled oats, organic evaporated cane juice, organic roasted soy nuts, organic wheat bran, organic whole wheat meal, organic brown rice flour, organic soy protein, organic soy oil, organic flax seed, organic flaxmeal, organic freeze dried banana, organic oat syrup solids, organic raisins (coated with organic sunflower oil), organic almonds, organic oat bran, organic puffed Kamut® Khorasan wheat, organic sunflower seeds, organic barley malt extract, organic cinnamon, sea salt, organic matcha green tea, organic molasses, tocopherols (natural vitamin E) added to enhance freshness, organic rice bran extract.

I had a full serving with 3/4 cup milk and a sliced banana for extra banana goodness ;)

This cereal was fantastic! I loved the nutty flavor of the grains and the banana chips added the perfect hint of sweetness, without tasting artificial or over-powering. I also loved the various textures in the cereal — Flakes, granola clusters, almonds, raisins, sunflower seeds, freeze-dried bananas – the list goes on! The Mister stole a bite (since I made it look so appetizing!) and loved it, too!

The best part? This kept me full through lunch! Must have been that healthy fat, protein and fiber count ;)

What is your favorite cereal? Ever since I was little kid, I’ve always been a Cheerios girl – can’t go wrong! I also used to always eat Wheaties so I could be like my dad ;)

  4. I’m not actually too much of a banana fan. I prefer berries. But this cereal does look good!

    I don’t eat cereal that often, but I DO love Steel Cut Oats with a little brown sugar, Flax Seed, chopped walnuts and dried cranberries!
