‘Tis the season for fresh vegetables! I recently took advantage of the season’s latest offerings and ordered a grilled vegetable salad along side wild-caught Alaskan salmon. The salad included grilled zucchini, peppers, portabella mushrooms, artichoke and crumbled feta cheese – all tossed in a tomato and balsamic reduction.
As much as I would like to take credit for this amazingness, I must admit I ordered it at a restaurant. My parents treated me and my brother (the Mister couldn’t join us!) to a delicious dinner at an adorable restaurant in Gates Mills, Sara’s Place.
Just take a look at how fresh and delicious this looks! We sat outside on the restaurant’s adorable patio and enjoyed the beautiful summer weather.

FRESH ASPARAGUS. For sure
Fave summer veggie?! That’s such a hard question! Haha! Probably some kind of squash or a fresh vine-ripened tomato. Ooh, or corn. Oh jeez, I could go on and on.
Can’t wait to read your article-I’ll be checking that out next.

I want those veggies! I can’t pick a favorite – it’s a toss up between squash and tomatoes!
Asparagus!
Tomatoes – especially the heirloom ones at the end of the summer. Those are a fruit though, so I guess the farmers’ market squash and purple cauliflower. Yum!
