K from K’s Good Eats
Hi Daily Balance readers! I’m excited to debut my first guest post, ever!! As the weather slowly starts to warm up, a lot of us are looking for a power breakfast to hold us over though the morning that isn’t hot. I’ve always loved Greek yogurt but was tired of just mixing it with plain old cereal in it’s plastic container each morning. Enter the parfait glass! Making food visually appealing adds to the whole experience of eating it. What makes these parfaits so special? The possibilities are endless! The basic ingredients in my daily parfaits are the following:
- Plain Greek yogurt (I’ve used Fage, Oikos, and Chobani all of which are winners in my book)
- A form of carbohydrate (Cereal, Vitatops, and muffins are some of my favorite choices)
- Sweeteners and spices of your choice
- Fruit, optional
Here are a few of my favorite combinations – hopefully you’ll get a few ideas of your own to try out!

CranBran Vitatop with cinnamon

Deep Chocolate Vitatop (this combo tastes like chocolate cheesecake)

Deep Chocolate Vitatop and strawberries

Kashi Go Lean Crunch and cinnamon

Banana Nut Vitatop and PB2
Best part of the parfait? Mixing it all up post picture and eating!

Thanks to Shannon for giving me the opportunity to guest post! I hope you all enjoyed my “how to!” Have a great day, everyone!

That’s so yummylicious looking
Gorgeous parfaits, K! I’ve only tried it with a vitatop, but now I’m inspired to do more variations
YUM! Sometimes I do things like that using a margarita glass. Presentation can make things taste amazing.
Wow… I love making parfait-like creations! I think my favorite would be a peanut butter mixed with vanilla yogurt and warm chocolate cookie/muffin/cereal or some kind of melty chocolate goodness!
<3 Always,
Keri
