Daily Delish – Let them eat cake!

So as I mentioned before, the Mister won the ‘best husband ever’ award this past weekend. Let me back up for a moment — before I lose my credibility by looking like I give out awards left and right!

So remember me mentioning that I had to miss my Master’s degree commencement last weekend? Yea, I was kinda bummed.

Well, the Mister wanted to make sure that I still had a special celebration. So instead of going to Paladar on Saturday as planned, he had my entire family and a few friends congregate at our house while we were on a walk. When I came back in the house, thinking I’d be running upstairs to change, I had everyone sitting in my living room. “SURPRISE!’ they yelled!

I was shocked! And in awe, really. So incredibly touched that the Mister took the time to coordinate this special get together – just for me.

Take a look at the fixins!

The best part? (other than the company, of course!) THE CAKE.

I <3 cake!

I <3 cake!

This amazing cake is from COSTCO! Believe it, people. This stuff is amazing. I’ve ordered it for multiple events and on several occasions I ate so much of it that  made myself sick — I don’t condone this behavior, but share it to prove how incredible this cake is. As you all know, I’m a big frosting lover. In fact, the sole purpose of cake (to me) is to merely serve as a platform on which to serve frosting ;) Naturally, I took the ‘flower piece.’

Bring on the frosting!

Bring on the frosting!

Don't worry, it turned my mouth black!

Did you SEE that chocolate filling? Sweet Jesus.

Have you had the pleasure of trying a COSTCO cake? Have you ever been the guest of honor at a surprise party? Do you love or hate them? I obvi LOVE ‘em!
