Daily Delish – Don’t swallow the seeds!

Daily Delish

Welcome new readers!

Just a quick reminder that this site make a lot more sense if you start here and read this.

Keeping with the Memorial Day theme, I enjoyed some watermelon for a snack this afternoon (because who doesn’t eat watermelon at a Memorial Day picnic?!).

Watermelon, most notably praised for its high vitamin C content, is one of my favorite summer snacks and really signifies the beginning of the season for me. (for more nutritional benefits, click here)

Good thing I like it, because I purchased the largest watermelon the store had — what? They were $3.99 EACH – might as well get the most bang for my buck!

After cutting this bad boy for about 30 minutes yesterday, I was left with more than 5 sizable containers of watermelon. Looks like the Mister and I will be bringing watermelon to each of our family cookouts this weekend (unless I eat it all first!) — Hopefully I won’t swallow too many seeds! I don’t want a watermelon family growing in my stomach! Or do I?!

  1. That’s so funny because when I was little my grandpa told me that the seeds would grow in my stomach and I totally believed him!

You got a lot of watermelon out of that one.

I haven’t had any yet, but looking at yours, I have to have some this weekend!

    Enjoy the holiday!

I was so bummed the other day (ok not SO BUMMED :) but I noticed) when I ponied up the cash for a seedless watermelon for the toddler and lo & behold there were a lotta black seed inside.
