Daily Delish – Tasty enzymes ;)

Daily Delish

I think I’ve shared this before but I LOVE punkin (almost as  much as I like calling it ‘punkin,’ but for you fancy people, I’ll refrain and go back to the boring way…). Pumpkin oatmeal, pumpkin ice cream (Handel’s makes THE best pumpkin marshmallow swirl — swoon!), pumpkin cakes and cookies, you name it. It stands to reason…I was born on Halloween, after all. I wouldn’t be surprised if I had pumpkin blood ;)

When I was at whole foods with Miss VeggieGirl last weekend, she recommended I try Prana Bars. Of course I wanted to be just like the fantabulous Veggie Girl one. Now that you know of my pumpkin obsession, it should be so surprise that I selected the apricot PUMPKIN flavor.

From the Web site:

Enzymes, the delicate dynamos – cannot be duplicated by science, because they are the stuff of life. Enzymes break down food into basic components so that the body can absorb nutrients and eliminate waste efficiently.

Your body can manufacture enzymes, but the more you use your enzyme potential, the sooner it runs out. Nearly all the enzymes naturally present in food are destroyed by processing and cooking, causing your body to deplete its own limited supply when digesting such foods.

Raw, organic and unprocessed foods, rich in enzymes, restore your enzyme levels and increase health, vitality and longevity.

Nutritional info and full array of flavors can be found on Prana Bar’s Web site.

This was DELISH! (Duh, Shannon! You are featuring it on the ‘Daily Delish!’) Oh right, you probably want a bit more detail, huh!? What, delish doesn’t cut it for you? Geesh, what do you think I am, a machine? GLADLY!

The flavor of this bar was incredible. Obviously, if you don’t like apricot or pumpkin, this bar is not for you! It’s amazing how strong the flavors were (not surprising, given the impressive ingredient list)! I was a bit apprehensive about how the apricot and pumpkin would taste together, but I thought it worked really well! I loved the chewiness of the bar, paired with the crunchiness of the pumpkin sseds! The bar was a bit sticky, but since it was FINGER-LICKIN’-GOOD, I was OK with it ;)

Have you tried Prana Bars? What did you think?
