So I tried Barney Butter for the first time today. You can close your jaws people, I haven’t had the opportunity! It’s not like there is a special Barney Butter aisle in my grocery store that I smile and wave at each week. I can’t get it around here. Ever. I haven’t seen it ANYWHERE, regular grocery stores, whole foods, specialty stores, no where.
So when I found out that Barney Butter themselves was giving out free samples on its website, I jumped at the chance to see what all the fuss was about.

I totally see why so many people love this product. Very creamy and slightly sweet, it’d be the perfect replacement for traditional peanut butter. I enjoyed mine on a Kashi waffle. I would have normally wanted to add banana (as we all know it’s the best combo EVER!), but I wanted to really taste the Barney Butter.
I loved the sweet aftertaste, It left my mouth smiling 
(that just reminded me of the Twizzlers “makes mouths happy” tag line, remember that? Is that even the tag line anymore?)
I must be honest though (as I always am!), I actually prefer my favorite PB of all time, Naturally More.
Have you guys tried Naturally More? You MUST. Now. seriously. It’s the best PB ever. LOVE the consistency, the crunch of the flax seed and the nutritional stats are unbeatable!
What’s your favorite brand of PB (or almond/cashew/macadamia/whatever!) butter?

Mmm I’ve heard so much about both Barney Butter and Naturally More; I really want to try them both! I love PB2, and I also get natural PB and natural AB at the grocery store (whatever brand has just peanuts or almonds and nothing else in the ingredients list).
Crunchy Barney Butter is pure crack in a jar for me! I also like TJs creamy PB!

ah i am so glad barney butter has finally entered your life girl – i hope you don’t get as addicted as i am.. i waste tons of money on the stuff now – but i can’t help it! too bad they don’t sell it in grocery stores

I’ve never had Barney Butter, either. My favorite is the almond butter I make myself. I roast the (raw) almonds and then put them in the food processor. That’s it. So easy but SO GOOD!

I keep hearing about Barney Butter, but I don’t know if I will try it. They use palm oil in their products, which is a horrible industry that kills thousands of animals each year and is destroying the rain forest at a rapid rate. It is also completely unsustainable product as of right now – in fact, Whole Foods has banned Palm Oil from all of it’s products.
I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer about Barney Butter, but once I saw they use palm oil I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase it. I love my Adam’s peanut butter, and am happy to stick with that for now!
