‘Work It:’ Lose Weight Watching TV!!!
Categories:
Yes, Ladies and Gents! It is true! You CAN lose weight and tone up that tummy watching TV! And no! This is not some gimmick… How you ask?
Workout videos! Before you roll your eyes and start raggin’ on the overly energetic- spandex wearing – stereotypical workout video divas, let me explain.
As much as we all say how much we LOVE going to the gym and getting out work-out on, aren’t there some days that you just want to sit on the couch?! (preferably with a dessert of some kind, huh?) The fact of the matter is, we’re not going to be excited to go to the gym EVERY DAY. We’re all entitled to off-days, of course, but for those who still want to get in a great workout without leaving their home, I have a solution. No it doesn’t require purchasing DVDs that you’ve never tried before only to find out you want to kill the woman with the shrill voice who resembles a chipmunk on acid do not connect with the trainer.
Most people who have digital cable have access to TONS of videos for FREE! I apologize if this isn’t news to most of you, but I recently learned of this myself after having had Time Warner for more than 2 years. (Basically, bare with me, I’m a n00b to Exercise TV On Demand)

Check out your ‘On Demand’ channel. Next, go to ‘free programming.’ Select ‘Exercise TV,’ and you are all set! Welcome to your own personal home fitness center. New videos rotate into the mix every few months, so once you get bored with the existing workouts, know that new material is around the corner.
For those of you without digital cable, I’ve got ya covered: http://www.exercisetv.tv/browsevideos.aspx
Just click on the ‘watch’ link on a video that appeals to you and voila!
I’ll admit, some of trainers featured make me want to gouge my eyes out don’t connect with me, but I’ve found some goodies on there, too.
Knowing that options like this are available it’s hard to make excuses not to at least put in 10 minutes. I’ve found that on days I don’t want to do ANYTHING those 10 minutes normally turn into 45, because really, what’s ONE more video?
Of course there are probably better DVDs out there, but even Jillian’s 30 day Shred has been featured on Exercise TV!
Do you use Exercise TV? What’s you favorite at-home workout?
p.s. did anyone else think of Kanye’s Workout Plan throughout this post?
Next week on ‘Work It’ Wednesday, I’ll be featuring tips and advice from professional trainers, as well as some of my favorite workouts. Stay tuned…
